2023 Honda CR-V

It’s now possible to buy one of the best SUVs for next year, the 2023 Honda CR-V. Honda has a name and fame for top-notch SUVs, and the new compact crossover won’t disappoint its fans. This lineup comes with five trims, one of which is hybrid. Read more about it below.

Performance and Driveability

Most trims in this lineup come with a 1.5L 16-valve turbocharged engine, except for the Touring Hybrid, which comes with a 2.0L 16-valve engine. The first option delivers 190hp and a torque capacity of 179 lb.-ft. The hybrid option is slightly less powerful, with 145hp and 138 lb.-ft of torque, but it has an electric motor horsepower of 181hp. 

All models have a towing capacity of 680kg except for the Touring Hybrid, which has a capacity of 453kg. Regarding fuel efficiency, the 1.5L 16-valve turbocharged engine makes 9.1L/100km in city conditions and 7.6L/100km on highways. Both options include an Eco Assist system and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Interior and Exterior

This SUV can seat up to five passengers, with foldable seats that can increase interior space even further. It’s a roomy SUV with plenty of legroom and headroom for everyone. The driver’s seat has six adjustments for most trims; the flagship model has eight. There are heated front seats in all trims, though. 

Other perks saved for the Touring Hybrid include heated rear seats and a heated leather-covered steering wheel. Also, this model comes with perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, while other models come with fabric seats. 

The exterior design is pretty similar across the whole lineup. All trims have an active shutter grill, body-colour door mirrors and handles, front wiper de-icer, and front and rear splash guards. The flagship model has a moonroof, a tailgate with programmable height, and roof rails. 

Tech and Safety

The 2023 Honda CR-V also comes with upgraded tech and safety features. All models are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, although only the flagship model offers wireless connectivity. All models have a 7-inch touchscreen display, which can be upgraded to a 9-inch display. The Touring Hybrid has a 9-inch touchscreen display equipped with a Bose sound system with 12 speakers.

This lineup also has plenty of active and passive driving assists. Active features available for everyone include brake assist, forward collision and lane departure warnings, hill start and descent controls, and vehicle stability assist. There are i-SRS airbags for the front seats and also SmartVent side airbags.
