The main purpose of the "Check Engine Light" is to protect the Engine, the air quality, and ourselves. 

Problem

The "Check Engine" Warning Light On.

Reason

When the Check Engine Light comes on and stays on, it  means that the on-board computer has detected a problem with the Emission Control system.

The problem could be as simple as the Gas Cap not on properly or  something more serious like  a Sensor Failure where one of the symptom could be the vehicle running rough and hesitating.

If this problem occurs and  is not looked at as soon as possible, other costly repairs could occur.
